Le Monde Winery, located in Italy's picturesque region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, has a relatively short yet rich history rooted in the passion for winemaking that dates back over forty years. The winery has become renowned for producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Friuli region.
Current owners, the Maccan family, bought the estate in 2008 and immediately invested in the property's physical and philosophical structures. The 18th century villa was renovated to embrace the modern while staying true to its original design. In the vineyard and cuverie, no expense was spared. An organic approach was undertaken in the vineyard and Alex Maccan increased the buffer between their vines and those of their neighbors who may not share their philosophy.
After harvest the grapes undergo a gentle bladder press. The juice will be fermented in stainless steel at low temperatures to increase texture and aromas. Alex Maccan was the first winemaker in the region to earn the coveted 'tre bicchieri' from Gambero Rosso.
