Quinta da Pedra, a historic estate dating back to the 17th century, is located in the heart of Vinho Verde, Portugal, where Alvarinho (aka Albarino) thrives. This 155-acre property is entirely dry-farmed, with vines planted on pure granite soils that provide excellent drainage and are perfectly exposed for ripening. The estate enjoys an Atlantic-influenced climate that lends freshness and minerality to its wines. The flagship wine, Milagres by Quinta da Pedra, showcases the full potential of Alvarinho, with occasional releases of back vintages as the “Purple Edition.” A younger expression of the grape, Graça da Pedra, further demonstrates the estate's versatility.
Crafted from 100% Alvarinho, the wine undergoes a light pre-fermentation maceration and gentle pressing preserve the grape’s delicate aromatics, while fermentation begins in stainless steel under controlled temperatures. It is completed decade old French oak barrels, where bâtonnage is carried out for six months. After 12 months in barrel, the wine is further aged in stainless steel tanks and bottle-aged for 2–3 years before release. The result is a vibrant, medium-to-full-bodied wine with a silky texture, refreshing acidity, and pronounced aromas of fresh and preserved stone fruits, white flowers, and wet rocks. This Alvarinho pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, white meats, and Asian cuisine.
