Domanie Hubert Lamy was founded in 1973 though the Lamy family has an extensive vinous history going back to 1640. Olivier Lamy joined the family Domaine in 1995 and is now in charge. On our visit, Olivier greeted us, after our arrival directly out of his vineyards (Olivier has a well earned reputation for his diligent vineyard work).

The 2022 Saint-Aubin Derrière Chez Edouard 1er Cru (Rouge) comes from 50- to 60-year-old vines that produce smaller berries. This has an exquisite bouquet with wild strawberry, crushed stone and wild hedgerow. The palate is mediumbodied with supple tannins. The stems impart noticeable pepperiness that denes the nish at the moment. Give this time in bottle.
