Willamette Valley is hot [and internationally coveted]. As if we needed more evidence of this, Mason Louis Jadot made its first ever vineyard purchase outside of Burgundy here. Starting in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Jadot purchased the Résonance Vineyard, dry farmed and on original rootstock. Expanding into the Dundee Hills the following year, the Découverte Vineyard displays the very best of the AVA. Famed Jadot winemaker, Jacques Lardière, has produced the wines of Résonance since its inaugural vintage in 2013; the first project for Jadot outside of France since its inception.
The Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of these two vineyards and others from like-minded growers in the region. Résonance Winery's Pinots are always focused on exhibiting the purest expression of the appelation. Though obviously new world, Lardière leaves his Burgundian footprint in each of his wines, resulting in fresh fruit wrapped in elegance, mouthwatering acidity, and fine tannin.
Wine Spectator: 94 Points
Fragrant raspberry and fresh violet aromas lead to elegantly layered cherry, mineral and savory tea flavors, with a silky mouthfeel that slowly builds tension on the polished finish. Drink now through 2033. —T.F.
