So often referred to as just Amoureuses, the Premier Cru Les Amoureuses of Chambolle-Musigny is often thought of as a Grand Cru -- and rightfully so! It is separated from the great Grand Cru, Musigny by only the width of a narrow road. Sometimes priced as high, and often times coming after other Grands Crus in a flight, this vineyard has all the finesse and charm of Chambolle on top of very compact limestone, adding structure, depth, and ageability.
Named for the mud that sticks to, and thus loves, a vigneron's boots and shovel, Amoureuses may just be the best named vineyard in Burgundy.
