The 2014 Les Hautes-Chèvres is 100% Meunier from vines planted in 1971, 1965, 1947 and 1931. A gorgeous, crystalline Champagne, the Haut-Chèvres exudes tremendous nuance, transparency and saline-infused intensity, all while remaining remarkably light on its feet. Dried flowers, chamomile and spice add lovely shades of nuance, but it is the wine’s persistence that leaves the deepest impression. This is the last vintage made with the 1931 vines, as they had to be ripped out after the 2014 harvest. (AG)
