You know your vineyard must be steep if its name Timpa is the Sicilian word for a strong slope. Indeed, the Grillo Feudo Montoni grows here comes from their aptly named Timpa vineyard which possesses a degree in excess of 70%, on par with some of the steeper vineyards in the world. Naturally, vineyards this steep must be hand harvested and this is.
The wine itself is floral, clean and fresh with an intensity aided by the steep vineyard. It is fermented in concrete and aged a further 6mo.
