Domaine Dujac chose Les Porroux, a village level vineyard located under the 1er Cru “La Bussiere” just west of the RD 974 highway to plant Chardonnay. Their reasoning is in fact because of the two lane highway which traps cold air as it cascades down from the village’s upper slopes. This man-made terroir quirk helps the Dujacs preserve the wine’s natural acidity which is a calling card of this wine. The soils here combine alluvial deposits and pockets of limestone.
