Chateau Raymond Lafon is sandwiched between Sauternes royalties like Chateau d'Yquem and Chateau Suduiraut. Despite such famous neighbors, Raymond Lafon is not classified. Pierre Meslier purchased the Chateau in 1972. At the time he was also the Technical Director of Chateau d'Yquem so it should come as no surprise that many of the techniques used at Chateau d'Yquem were adopted and are still employed to this day.
