We know what you're thinking. A 2011 Bordeaux? These guys must be crazy to suggest this. But we have to tell you. We tasted this and plenty other 2011s on our most recent trip to France and we found them so perfect now. Complex and mature. Completely ready to drink!
While the 2011 vintage may have garnered a reputation for being weaker compared to stellar years like 2010, 2015, or 2016, our recent tasting trip to Bordeaux where multiple 2011s were presented showed that while these won't make older bones, they are totally enjoyable now. If you've visited us in store we've been saying this since we returned from our trip. We even placed a few orders for some of these and we're excited to finally have some of the vintage in-stock now from the esteemed Chateau Montrose.
Montrose's 2011s stood out with its immediate appeal and drinkability, making it the perfect choice for those who appreciate a wine at the peak of its powers. This wine has matured gracefully, offering a bouquet of complex aromas and flavors that are simply irresistible. The nose is a delightful blend of dark fruits, cedar, and subtle spices, while the palate delivers a harmonious balance of rich fruit, velvety tannins, and a long, satisfying finish. It's a wine that captivates the senses from the first sip to the last, showcasing the remarkable craftsmanship of Chateau Montrose.
One of the joys of wine is savoring it at its best, and the 2011 Chateau Montrose is undoubtedly in its prime. This wine is ready to be uncorked and enjoyed right now. It's a testament to the winemakers' skill that despite the challenges of the vintage, they have created a wine that delivers such gratification. So why wait?
