In our opinion, Benjamin makes some of the most exciting wines in Burgundy and his Bourgogne Blanc is no exception. While his source can vary, this cuvee will typically be comprised of old vine village level Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. Fermentation is spontaneous and Benjamin incorporates large oak foudres so the oak will not overwhelm the wine.
Benjamin Leroux cut his teeth at Comte Armand before settling into his own label in 2007. His encyclopedic knowledge and understanding of the Côte d'Or has lead him to unearth previously unknown sites, as he focuses his attention and contracts on top-notch growers who handle well his exacting sense of viticulture. Today Leroux makes small amounts of a wide range of plots throughout the Côte d'Or, some from the more prestigious sites, some not. Regardless, all of Leroux's wines show off his talent for coaxing out the best expression the fruit has to offer, year in and year out.
