Tenuta Sette Ponti, located in a historic area named after the seven bridges over the Arno River, is steeped in tradition. One of these bridges, the Ponte Buriano, famously appears in Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. The estate’s flagship wine, Oreno, debuted in 1999, inspired by a passion for elegant Bordeaux-style wines. The estate owner’s vision led to the planting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot—grapes that form the core of the Oreno blend. The vineyard’s clay-rich soil benefits Merlot, which forms the foundation of this exceptional wine, while Cabernet Sauvignon thrives in the nearby pebbly soils.
