Wine Spectator: 94 Points
Marked by kirsch, spice and underbrush notes, this red is intense and solidly built, with concentrated cherry and berry fruit. Juicy midpalate, leading to long, chalky finish. A bit awkward today, but shows promise.
Vinous Media: 90-92 Points
The 2017 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru has a very well-defined, fresh, complex bouquet of cranberry leaf, freshly tilled loam and wet limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit and good grip, a little stocky, like the Corton-Grèves, but with a touch of precision. Perhaps this will be the pick of Jadot’s Corton Grand Crus. (NM)
Burghound: 90-93 Points
The pure, pretty and restrained aromas of essence of wild red currant are redolent with plenty of the classic earth and sauvage characters of a classic Corton that are set off by prominent wood and menthol. There is a beguiling freshness and sense of energy to the focused and sleekly muscular medium-bodied flavors that possess an almost pungent minerality on the tight and grippy finish that will need time to resolve. I particularly like the excellent complexity and the fine balance should enable this to age effortlessly.
Wine Advocate
The 2017 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is showing brilliantly from bottle, wafting from the glass with an inviting bouquet of cherries, raspberries and red plums, mingled with notes of orange rind, sweet spices and flowers. On the palate, it's full-bodied, supple and enveloping, with velvety tannins, excellent depth at the core, succulent acids and a perfumed finish. (WK)
