The 2023 vintage continues to shine, and our newest addition comes from the cellars of Louis Jadot. In a year of abundance and energy, Jadot has crafted a wine of remarkable balance and vibrancy.
This bottle easily punches above its weight—it's definitely Premier Cru quality—but at a price below what even some basic Bourgognes fetch.
Trust us, it’s worth your time.
Drawn from a dozen parcels across the esteemed Beaune Premier Cru appellation, this cuvée encapsulates the character of the village in a single glass. The brown limestone soils of Beaune lend their signature depth, while 18 months in oak barrels (30% new) add structure and refinement. The result is a wine with broad texture, ripe tannins, and a long, elegant finish.
Here’s the headline: James Suckling awarded it 94 points, and it’s just under $50 a bottle. In today’s Burgundy market, finding a Premier Cru at this level and price is almost unheard of. Whether you’re looking to stock up or to discover what makes Beaune such a benchmark terroir, this is an opportunity not to miss.
Staff Description
What a great value. For the price of some Bourgognes you can drink Premier Cru! l'm really loving the energy of the '23s right now but you can also wait another handful of years if you'd like. It will improve!
James Suckling: 94 Points
The bright, lifted red fruit is supported by cherries, dried strawberries, apple skin, chalk and potpourri. The midweight palate has a high-tension mouthfeel and piercing acidity, rounded out by a grippy yet polished finish. A blend of 12 vineyards, not bottled individually, this is a great representation of the AOC for the vintage. Drink or hold.
